SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Check-Mate Industries is seeking a skilled and dependable CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for setting up and operating CNC milling machines to produce precision components that meet strict quality and performance standards. The ideal candidate will have hands-on machining experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced production environment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit and walk for extended periods of time. Employees must be able to stand for long periods of time. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, reach overhead, lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Tasks require manual dexterity, hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate machine and other equipment. In addition, visual and hearing acuity; as well as identifying and distinguishing colors.
ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
This role is based on the manufacturing shop floor within a high-volume production facility. While performing duties in designated production areas, the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required to ensure safety and compliance with workplace regulations.

This role is responsible for setting up and operating CNC milling machines to produce precision components that meet strict quality and performance standards. The ideal candidate will have hands-on machining experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced production environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Includes, but may not be limited to the following, other duties maybe assigned based on departmental needs and company goals:
- Set up and operate CNC milling machines for production runs
- Load and verify programs, set tool offsets, and perform first-piece inspections
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions
- Utilize precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, and height gages
- Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain tolerances
- Ensure consistent product quality while minimizing scrap and rework
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent, supplemented by 3+ years of CNC mill experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Proven ability to set up machines and run jobs independently, Haas, Makino, Doosan are a plus
- Proficient in reading blueprints and understanding tolerances
- Experience using standard inspection and measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, indicators, optical comparators, and 3D scanning
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Familiarity with ERP/MES systems, PLEX, IQMS are a plus
- Basic knowledge of CAD/CAM software
- Reliability and strong work ethic
- Attention to detail with a focus on efficiency
- Willingness to learn and continuously improve
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
